DePuy Synthes Joint Reconstruction has released its ATTUNE Knee System throughout Europe.

“As part of a European-wide rollout, the ATTUNE Knee System will now be commercially available across multiple markets in Europe providing surgeons and patients with access to the latest knee replacement technologies. The ATTUNE Knee is the result of the largest research and development project in DePuy Synthes history,” Gary Lancaster, EMEA marketing director, stated in a company press release.

In the knee system’s development, researchers looked at radiographs of patient movement, cadaver knees and computer simulations to produce several proprietary technologies. Research also focused on the creation of instruments to provide more efficient care. The INTUITION  instruments use composite materials, lightweight instrument cases with fewer instruments to minimize the number of cases in the operating room, as well as color coding and clear marking to reduce surgical errors, and a reduction of surgical steps for set-up efficiency.
