ORLANDO, Fla. — At the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting, Steven B. Weinfield, MD, discussed a study which looked at nonsurgical vs. surgical treatment of displaced ankle fractures in diabetic patients. He said diabetic patients treated nonsurgically had extremely high complication rates.
