DeGen Medical launches anterior cervical plate system

DeGen Medical Inc. recently announced the launch of its cervical spine implant, Hyper-C Anterior Cervical Plate System, an anterior intervertebral fixation device designed to aid in stabilizing the cervical spine.
According to a company press release, the cervical plate system offers plates in levels one through five, in addition to multiple lengths. The single-level plate comes in 1-mm increments. The system also offers bone screws in 4-mm, 4.25-mm and 4.6-mm diameters from 10 mm to 20 mm in length. There are fixed or variable bone screw choices, as well as self-drilling or self-tapping options.

The first anterior cervical fusion with Hyper-C implants was performed by Daniel Williams, MD, at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, N.C.

“The short, low-profile anterior cervical plate offered by DeGen Medical decreases the risk of adjacent-level degeneration postoperatively,” Williams said in the release. “The bone screws can angulate to accommodate for placement near the edge of endplate with great purchase. The small width of the plate with large graft window allows for complete visualization of surrounding structures and perfect placement.”
