During the General Assembly at the EFORT Congress in May, NORE (Network of Orthopaedic Registries within Europe) was launched after the European Arthroplasty Registry (EAR) decided to dissolve. EFORT will now build on registry activities through the new network (NORE) placed under the leadership of Professor Rob Nelissen, of Leiden, The Netherlands.

The main aim of NORE is to network in the community that includes all orthopaedic registries to support them in their activities. But, also through EFORT Congresses, NORE will reach the orthopaedic stakeholders and health professionals in the orthopaedic field with the latest outcomes from different registries. Thus, education is one major goal of both the general and the specialized orthopaedic surgeon. NORE is all-inclusive and open to small, less-complete registries, in comparison to the former EAR, as well as registries focused on areas other than arthroplasty.

Several European orthopaedic registries have already joined NORE, and we invite those who still have not joined to consider participating. If interested, please contact Prof. Dr. Rob Nelissen at r.g.h.h.nelissen@lumc.nl.

More information will be posted on the EFORT website in due course.
