New EU research funding calls have been launched under Horizon 2020, specifically under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action, which is aimed at promoting research and innovation staff exchange for international and inter-sectoral cooperation.
Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE) is open to all researchers regardless of their nationality and field of research and may be of interest to those who are after short-term mobility (one to 12 months). Under the calls, academic organizations and SMEs can second staff engaged in research to work in partnerships under joint and research innovation activities.
Activities can focus either on one dimension of mobility: inter-sectoral or international, or include a combination of both. RISE targets researchers at all career levels, from young to experienced, and can also include administrative, managerial and technical staff supporting the research and innovation activities of the proposal.
Last year, under RISE 2014, of the 203 proposals submitted, 111 were eligible for grants.
