The book European Surgical Orthopaedics and Traumatology was created to upgrade the EFORT educational programs for trainees and experienced general and specialist orthopaedists and traumatologists alike.
Uniquely, it is written by leaders in European orthopaedics and traumatology research and practice and is a comprehensive approach to all important aspects of surgical management.
The style, whilst individual to the authors, is didactic and easy to follow. Each chapter has an opening contents list which leads the reader directly to the essentials of pathophysiology, surgical anatomy, clinical presentation, biomechanics, investigation and diagnosis to the optimal treatment methods required, whether surgical or conservative. The evidence for the different treatments is presented succinctly.
Each of the 7 volumes covers systematically the musculoskeletal system and its injuries and diseases, together with current knowledge and best practice. The bibliographies and the index lead to further teaching and research material for those involved in day-to-day academic education and research.
Trainees, especially those preparing for the examination of their own country or the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology examination will find it indispensable with its copious illustrations of specific regional surgical approaches and techniques.
Published in seven easy-to-handle printed volumes or also available in an electronic version, it is the essential surgical companion for the 21st century orthopaedist and traumatologist - don’t forget to order your copy now through Springer.
