Since the launch of this course format during the 10th EFORT Congress in Vienna in 2009, the EFORT Comprehensive Review Course (CRC) has been a huge success and sold out months ahead of time.

Created during Pierre Hoffmeyer’s time as President of EFORT, the CRC aims to provide the knowledge and skills required by every specialist, and to broaden the participant’s orthopaedic horizon.

This course provides up-to-date presentations in five major areas:

  • Lower extremity
  • Upper extremity
  • Spine
  • Pediatrics
  • Basic science

The CRC usually takes place parallel to the Annual Congress. Therefore, registration for this course comes in addition to the Congress’ registration.

Comprehensive Review Course

The learning objectives for this event are to apply the differential diagnosis, treatment, prognosis of the musculoskeletal system and to recognize the most important features of bone, cartilage, nerve, muscle and tendon/ligament, normal anatomy and physiology, and abnormal conditions.

Participants are given the possibility of identifying various essential traumatic and non-traumatic orthopaedic conditions and their nonoperative and operative treatment, as well as applying the testable systemic factors and emergency conditions in trauma care.

Each speciality has a moderator who will address the different questions and comments from the audience in an efficient way.

During the 2016 EFORT Congress, we will develop a pilot activity: the Easy Evidence Update. This new activity is designed to easily review some common conditions (proximal humeral fractures) in a specific area (upper limb). The Easy Evidence Update will occur on a different day than the CRC in order to avoid overlapping activities.

For this upcoming EFORT Annual Congress in Geneva, we plan to develop a new syllabus with learning materials to follow each lecture with multiple choice questions to answer main topics in any area. The course syllabus will be provided in hardcopy and in pdf format as part of the registration fee.

Registrants will be notified by email with the downloading details for the electronic material approximately one week prior to the course.

Be sure to secure your attendance to the Comprehensive Review Course before it sells out!
