Orthozon Technologies Inc. has signed a distribution agreement appointing GM Medical Pacific Limited the exclusive distributor of the Orthozon’s Lumiere Minimally Invasive Access System in the Asia-Pacific region. GM Medical Pacific serves 17 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including Japan, China, India, Australia and South Korea.

The new minimally invasive surgery device includes built-in fiber optic lighting that expands the field of view by more than 33% to increase exposure of the spine and has rotatable translucent blades, according to a company press release. Lumiere is a single-use device.

“Spine surgeons in Asia-Pacific are anxious to expand the numbers of spine surgeries performed using minimally invasive techniques, which makes the timing perfect for the introduction of Lumiere,” said Patrick Choi, founder and president of GM Medical, said in the release.
