Inova Medical Group recently announced it has hired neurosurgeons Brian McHugh, MD, and Gail Rosseau, MD.

McHugh, an expert in minimally invasive spine surgery and spinal deformity surgery, comes to the Inova Fairfax Medical Group from Hospital for Special Surgery/Cornell University Department of Orthopedic Spine in New York, where he completed a fellowship in adult and pediatric scoliosis and spinal deformity surgery.

Rosseau joins Inova Neuroscience and Spine Institute as the associate chair of Neurosurgery-Based Programs and director of the residency program and Stereotactic Radiosurgery. According to a press release, she previously served as director of Skull Base Surgery at North Shore University Health System.

“My goal is to create a world class team of physicians and surgeons who are focused on innovative precision medicine research combined with patient-centered care,” James Ecklund, MD, chairman of the Inova Neuroscience Institute, said in the press release. “Dr. Rosseau and Dr. McHugh bring substantial expertise in both areas, and we look forward to working closely with both of these outstanding surgeons and welcome them to our growing team.”

The Inova Neuroscience and Spine Institute will be a cornerstone of the new Inova Center for Personalized Health, according to the press release.
