DePuy Synthes Trauma recently announced the U.S. launch of CONFORM Flex with Q-PACK technology, the company’s new trauma-related offering for fixation of the foot and ankle and hand and wrist.

CONFORM Flex is a product that DePuy Synthes Trauma described in a press release as the only pre-hydrated demineralized cancellous bone tissue matrix used in a bone void-filling capacity in trauma-related extremity procedures. The biologic implant is both osteoconductive and osteoinductive and is available in cube or strip configurations.

According to the press release, this flexible implant resists migration, absorbs and retains bone aspirate, blood and saline, can be osteogenic when combined with bone marrow aspirate. It can also can be compressed up to 50% of its original size. CONFORM Flex is processed by the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation.

The available Q-PACK technology is an ambient temperature method of packaging that allows tissue to come fully hydrated and ready for use out of the package, which eliminates the rehydration stage prior to implantation.
