SeaSpine Holdings Corporation recently announced the launch of its Ventura NanoMetalene transforaminal intervertebral body fusion device, according to a company release.

The commercially available interbody transforaminal device has been successfully implanted and is indicated as an adjunct to fusion in patients with degenerative disc disease (DDD). The device is made with NanoMetalene, an ultra-thin layer of commercially pure titanium molecularly bonded to a Peek-Optima implant, according to the company.

The device’s convex surfaces and multiple footprints allow surgeons to create a secure anatomical fit, and Ventura NanoMetalene’s large graft aperture for autogenous bone graft assists in fusion. Ventura NanoMetalene is optimal for both open and minimally transforaminal lumbar intervertebral fusion procedures, according to the company.

SeaSpine Holdings Corporation has received FDA 510(K) clearance for several NanoMetalene-coated PEEK interbody devices that are expected to roll out commercially in the future.
