DePuy Synthes Companies of Johnson & Johnson recently announced the eSIMS Inventory Management and Ordering Solution and the Geriatric Fracture Program, two new offerings to improve the level of care offered to patients.

The eSIMS Solution is an option that can be installed to a hospital’s IT system to enable automatic ordering of inventory when stock drops below preset quantities. The company’s Geriatric Fracture Program is constructed to lessen both complications due to fractures in older patients and the length of hospital stay through the program’s patient education and secondary prevention techniques, as well as community support and a supported discharge system.

Both offerings, which are additions to the DePuy Synthes Advantage Program, can improve hospital efficiency and expand treatment options for patients undergoing joint, spine or trauma surgery, according to a company release.

Also included in the release was the announcement of Joint Progress Visitation Centers, a management and engagement program designed to quicken discharge and recovery for patients undergoing total joint arthroplasty.

“We are delighted to be adding new solutions to our already established DePuy Synthes Advantage Programs,” Paul Kurring, director of DePuy Synthes Advantage Programs EMEA, said in the release. “Both eSIMS and the Geriatric Fracture Program demonstrate how we can help our customers achieve more by reducing their operating costs while improving clinical outcomes and enhancing the patient experience.
