EOS Imaging launches 3-D imaging solution
EOS Imaging recently announced a new online service allowing hospitals to outsource 3-D modelling from EOS stereo-radiographic images.
The models will be used for a variety of purposes in procedures relating to the spine, hip, knee and ribcage. EOS is also using this technology to help design scoliosis braces and has already signed a first agreement with the Setting Scoliosis Straight Foundation (SSSF) to help develop treatment for spinal deformity in pediatric patients, according to a company press release.
Although the 3-D models will be generated at EOS’ Canadian subsidiary, all clinicians worldwide who have access to EOS images are able to make use of this service.
“EOS 3-D service affords surgeons and bracing professionals currently without direct access to our sterEOS workstation to benefit from the powerhouse of our patient 3-D models and data,” Marie Meynadier, CEO of EOS Imaging, said in the release. “We are happy to extend this service to all of our customers and to their referrals, adding further value to the suite of software and tools based on the EOS platform.”
“EOS’ modeling capabilities fit seamlessly into our strategic plan to research and identify new spinal deformity treatment techniques, and we couldn’t be more pleased to partner with the company as the first users of the EOS 3-D service” Michelle Marks, executive director of the SSSF, said in the release.
