Depuy Synthes Spine launches new Synapse System enhancements

Depuy Synthes Spine recently announced the launch of Synapse Advanced enhancements, a collection of new implants and instruments for the Synapse Platform.

The Synapse platform is used for posterior stabilization of the upper spine. The new enhancements are designed to provide more surgical options and enhance usability during posterior stabilization of the upper spine, according to a company press release.

The company also announced it has received FDA approval to market the system along with the Expedium Spine System together for the first time through the use of Titanium Dual Diameter Rods.

The two systems are global market leaders in the treatment of both cervical and thoracolumbar spinal conditions, according to the release. The clearance will allow spine surgeons to treat diseases spanning from the cervical region of the spine into the thoracic and lumbar regions.
