ORLANDO, Fla. — At the Current Concepts in Joint Replacement Winter Meeting, Robert L. Barrack, MD, shares his perspective on a study of the use of a mobile compression device for the prevention of symptomatic venous thromboembolic events after primary unilateral total joint arthroplasty. Researchers concluded that the use of the mobile compression device with or without aspirin for provided a non-inferior risk for the development of venous thromboembolism compared with current pharmacological protocols.
