SAN FRANCISCO — Integra LifeSciences introduced a new orthobiologic implant, available for limited market release, here at the North American Spine Society Annual Meeting.

The Demineralized Bone Matrix (DBM) Strip implant, designed for use in posterior lumbar spine fusion procedures, is available in two forms: the Integra Shaped Strip and the Integra Pocket Strip. The strips are 100% human allograft, delivering a natural biologic scaffold with verified osteroinductive potential, according to a company press release.

The implant’s design features a deep recess to accommodate additional graft material placement, and it is pliable when hydrated to maintain integrity upon irrigation, allowing for contouring based on the patient’s anatomy.

“We’re very excited to add these new implants to Integra’s orthobiologic product portfolio,” John Winge, Integra LifeSciences’ vice president of sales, U.S. Spine division, said in the release. “This not only addresses an identified market need, but it’s Integra’s first DBM implant designed for a specific surgical procedure.”
