Invibio Biomaterial Solutions announced recently that its laboratories were accredited to ISO 17025:2005 by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service.

With the new accreditation, Invibio’s laboratory test results are validated as precise and accurate, allowing the company to avoid the need for third-party validation, according to a press release.

“For years, Invibio’s PEEK-OPTIMA polymers have been the preferred materials of choice for spinal interbody fusion devices,” Keith Cartwright, quality and regulation leader, medical and regulatory compliance at Invibio, said in the press release. “Accreditation to ISO 17025:2005 reassures them that our polymers and the processes under which they are tested and validated meet the highest international standards.”

The ISO 17025:2005 accreditation covers tensile testing, flexural testing, determination of density by immersion, differential scanning calorimetry analysis for the determination of glass transition, crystallization point and melting point to industry standards for key test procedures, according to the release.
