Intellijoint Surgical announced recently it has gained FDA clearance for its flagship product, Intellijoint HIP.

Used for guiding surgeons during total hip arthroplasty, the product contains two sensors that communicate with a surgeon-controlled portable display. The display ensures accuracy of all measurements to ensure proper position of the hip implant components to garner the correct leg length and hip offset, according to a company press release.

“In the U.S., similar to Canada, our initial marketing plan is to work closely with certain leading surgeons and hospitals in specific geographic areas,” Armen Bakirtzian, CEO of Intellijoint, said in the release. “In parallel, we are solidifying alliances with major implant companies while continuing to expand our product line.”
