Ulrich Medical USA releases new spinal implant

Ulrich Medical USA announced it has released a new spinal implant system for the U.S. market.

The uCentum Comprehensive Posterior System is designed to provide immobilization and stabilization of spinal segments as an adjunct to fusion of the thoracic, lumbar and the sacral spine, according to a company press release.

“We are very excited to introduce the uCentum product to the U.S. spine market,” Christoph Ulrich, managing partner of Ulrich Medical, said in a press release. “The uCentum product embodies design inputs from premier spine surgeons from across the globe and years of research and development work, and we are confident that it represents the cutting edge in technological advancements in rod-screw implants.”

The uCentum pedicle screw consists of a simple, low-profile, tulip-head, top-loading, cannulated, fenestrated and optimized thread design to address the increased purchase requirements of poor bone quality, according to the press release. The system also features straight or curved titanium rods, various reduction instruments and minimally invasive rod-delivery options.
