DePuy Synthes Mitek Sports Medicine announced the addition of the Rigidfix Curve Cross Pin System and the launch of the Rigidloop Cortical Fixation System at the 15th EFORT Congress in London.

Touted as the first of its kind by the company, the Rigidfix system is designed for use with the anteromedial portal approach, which allows for a more anatomic ACL reconstruction. The Rigidloop system, along with the Intrafix ACL Tibial Fastener System, offers surgeons a complete procedural solution for anatomic soft-tissue reconstruction of the ACL.

The company also announced two new sizes of Milagro Advance Interference Screws — a biocomposite screw designed to offer easier, faster insertion than traditional interference screws — to their offerings of knee solutions for soft-tissue and bone-patellar tendon-bone repair.

“Our portfolio of orthopedic sports medicine solutions continues to grow as we are introducing new innovative products to meet the clinical needs of patients and surgeons,” Rocco De Bernardis, marketing director for Mitek Sports Medicine, said in a company press release. “Our new products for ACL reconstruction were designed to accommodate surgeons’ different procedural preferences, but likewise, the common need for strong fixation, procedural simplicity, reproducibility and a more anatomic reconstruction. Among them, Rigidfix Curve is not only a new product; it is also a ‘procedural innovation,’ introducing new thinking and ideas on how ACL reconstructions can be performed.”
