Orthofix International announced the appointment of James F. Hinrichs to its board of directors.

Hinrichs joins the board with more than 20 years of experience at leading health care companies. At the company’s 2014 annual general meeting of shareholders in June, Hinrichs will become the chair of the board’s Audit and Finance Committee as well as a member of its nominating and governance committee. Hinrichs was most recently the chief financial officer of CareFusion Corporation.

“Jim’s experience as a public company CFO, combined with his knowledge of the medical device industry and related financial environment, make him an ideal director for our board and future chair of our Audit and Finance Committee,” Ron Matricaria, Orthofix chairman, stated in a company press release. “We believe he will bring added depth to these roles as we work to improve our reporting processes and realize our full potential.”
