Halifax Biomedical receives FDA clearance for imaging software

The FDA issued clearance to Halifax Biomedical Inc. for its image processing software, the company announced here at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting.

The company’s Model-Based RSA (MBRSA) Software is an analytical software package for evaluation of orthopedic implant fixation and bone segment motion. It measures the in vivo 3-D position and relative motion of metal implants, marker beads and bone segments from calibrated stereo radiographic images.

The MBRSA Software was developed and maintained by Halifax Biomedical Inc. partner RSAcore in the Department of Orthopaedics at Leiden University Medical Center, in Leiden, Netherlands.
