Global Orthopaedic Technology, MacCredit Group reach agreement to fund local surgery
Global Orthopaedic Technology has reached an agreement with the MacCredit Group, a medical consumer finance company, to provide credit for self-funded Australian patients who undergo local joint replacement surgery.
“Over the past few years, there has been a growth in the popularity of medical tourism with an increasing number of Australians traveling overseas to undergo all types of elective surgery,” Darren Churchill, CEO of Global Orthopaedic Technology, stated in a press release. “From a clinical and regulatory perspective, the risks are simply too great and have been well-documented.”
Under terms of the agreement, Global Orthopaedic Technology and the MacCredit Group will provide credit to patients who want to self-fund, part or the full cost of the joint replacement surgeries performed in Australia. The MacCredit Group services more than 2,000 clinics in Australia.
