Invuity releases illuminated retractor system for spine procedures
Invuity has released the Breiten Illuminated Retractor System that yields better visualization of the disc space in anterior cervical spine procedures where visualization may be challenging.
“With the spine market continuing to grow significantly, we are committed to providing a portfolio of devices that help meet surgeons’ needs for improved visibility, thereby helping to enable a variety of less invasive procedures to be performed,” Invuity CEO Philip Sawyer stated in a company press release.
The Breiten Illuminated Retractor System combines the company’s retraction devices with its Eigr Illumination Technology, which projects thermally cool, brilliant, white light throughout a surgical cavity to improve visualization, according to the press release.
The retractor system is intended for use with anterior cervical discectomy and fusion, anterior cervical corpectomy and other spine procedures where added illumination is needed.
