Atlas Spine has announced the full release its Apelo MIS Pedicle Screw System.

According to a company press release, the system has a guidewire management system, giving surgeons complete control of guidewires throughout the pedicle screw preparation and implantation process. It also provides wound retraction capabilities for improved rod targeting and increased visualization through smaller incisions.

The rod-to-screw interface accommodates a variety of different situations, such as when reduction of the spinal segment is not an option or when facing a hyperlordotic L5-S1 segment. The system offers a selection of proprietary implant options.

“The whole idea behind minimally invasive spine surgery is to simplify steps to maximize efficiency and improve outcomes,” Matt Baynham, cofounder and chief technology officer for Atlas Spine, stated in the release.
