DePuy Synthes Trauma in Suzhou China has received a product license for domestic manufacture of four classes of DePuy Synthes Trauma products. The company is the first multinational health care manufacturer to receive this local designation for trauma products.

The locally manufactured and approved trauma plates and screws are expected to launch next year.

“We will be able to reach a whole new market segment with these ‘local’ products that are manufactured and have undergone clinical trials in China,” Judy Mitchell, president of DePuy Synthes Asia-Pacific, stated in a company press release. “We are pleased that we will be able to provide access to our products where there is significant unmet need, particularly in more rural, underserved areas of the country.”
