K2M launches corpectomy cage system for trauma, tumor indications
K2M Inc., a spinal device company focusing on complex spinal pathologies and minimally invasive procedures, recently released the SANTORINI Small Corpectomy Cage System with cages designed to address collapsed, damaged or unstable vertebral bodies due to trauma or tumor.
The corpectomy cages are made of PEEK, allowing for unobstructed postoperative views of fusions and assessment of tumor recurrence, according to a company press release.
The SANTORINI Small corpectomy cage comes as both expandable and solid cages, which makes it appealing for a variety of surgical techniques. The SANTORINI Small expandable model allows in-situ height adjustments securing and a locking clip secures the height and the SANTORINI Small solid cage features a one-piece PEEK design with a smaller overall footprint and an expanded graft space.
“The launch of the SANTORINI Small Corpectomy Cage System marks another significant addition to our growing product portfolio. This full launch of SANTORINI Small expands K2M’s trauma and tumor offering and demonstrates our continued commitment to developing products to fill important gaps in the global spine market,” Eric Major, president and chief executive officer of K2M, stated in the release.
