Flower Orthopedics has announced the availability of FlowerCubes, sterile, single-use cubes which contain the necessary implants, trials and instruments needed for bone fixation surgery.

According to a company press release, FlowerCubes are ready for surgery and contain individual sterile packaging to eliminate the need for preoperative sterilization and to reprocess the tools postoperatively.

“The number of items brought into the procedure room for each orthopedic case today is unnecessarily excessive,” said Oliver Burckhardt, president and CEO of Flower Orthopedics. “We developed FlowerCubes to simplify the process.

There is also a mobile app that allows surgeons to customize the cube content for personal preferences.

Flower Orthopedics also announced an exclusive distribution agreement with McKesson Medical-Surgical to reach the ambulatory surgical center (ASC) market.
