Patients who had osteochondral autologous graft transfers for chondral and osteochondral lesions showed good outcome scores, according to this study.

Researchers studied 65 knees in 64 patients with a mean follow-up of 82.2 months. Outcome measures included Tegner activity scale, Lysholm scale and International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) score.

After the procedure, Lysholm scores increased an average of 59.2 points, Tegner activity scale scores went up 3.6 points and IKDC subjective knee evaluation form scores increased 42.6 points. The researchers noted no significant differences between functional results and age, localization of osteochondral defects or any additional knee pathologies.
