Safe Orthopaedics launched the SteriSpine PS Pedicle Screw system, a single-use, sterile and traceable system for fixation of the lumbar spine.

According to a press release, the SteriSpine PS system lets surgeons trace implants and instruments and to enhance surgical efficiency as well as patient safety in the OR. The system comes in single-use surgery kits for every procedure and meet expected Unique Device Identifier regulatory requirements across Western Europe and the United States.

“The introduction of SteriSpine PS marks a first,” Dominique Petit, founder and CEO of Safe Orthopaedics, stated in a press release. “The traditional model featuring heavy, reusable instrument systems presents a number of solvable problems. Safe Orthopaedics exists to deliver these solutions to the marketplace.”
