Orthopedics Today will be live blogging the Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Devices Panel of the Medical Devices Advisory Committee meeting on metal-on-metal hip arthroplasty systems this Wednesday, June 27 and Thursday, June 28.

According to an FDA news release, the purpose of the meeting is for the committee to discuss expert and scientific clinical advice on the risk and benefits of the devices so the agency may continue to make reliable safety recommendations to patients and health care providers.

Coverage starts at 7:30 a.m. EDT both mornings and runs the length of the meeting each day, with frequent updates being posted as events occur.
