Orthofix International announced the integration of the company’s Phoenix MIS and Firebird Pedicle Screw Systems into Brainlab’s spinal navigation systems.

According to a company press release, the product will be co-marketed with Brainlab’s spinal navigation systems, thereby permitting preoperative planning and real-time positioning of spinal fixation devices in technically challenging spinal fusions procedures.

“Our collaboration with Brainlab is another step in promoting new technologies for procedures, such as minimally invasive and spinal deformity surgery,” Robert Vaters, president and chief executive officer of Orthofix, stated in the release. “We are excited to partner with Brainlab to educate and promote the intra-operative advantages of its different image-guided surgery platforms when used in conjunction with our Phoenix MIS and Firebird spinal fixation systems.”
