Viztek introduces upgraded imaging appliance

Viztek announced an upgrade to its Opal-Ortho PACS solution for orthopedic practices. According to a company press release, the upgraded system offers one single appliance to control every aspect of orthopedics imaging to integrate direct digital or computed radiology and the picture archive communication systems for efficiency.

“Our ‘one box’ functionality means practices can now have the whole suite in a small footprint, with the added bonus of simple mobile device connectivity,” Steve Deaton, vice president of sales for Viztek, stated in the release. “We estimate the typical practice can save 15 minutes a day per physician through improved efficiency, a number that ultimately allows patients to receive more personal care.”

The upgraded Opal-Ortho appliance, according to the release, can house 100,000 imaging studies. The system offers orthopedics practices the opportunity to integrate mobile devices, such as iPad tablets or Android devices, to display images to patients and colleagues.
