COPENHAGEN – Attendees of the 12th EFORT Congress 2011 are invited to participate in the Charity 5K Run/2.5 Walk on Friday, 3 June. The event will start at 06:15 at the meeting point of Tioeren, Amager Standpark.

All proceeds will benefit research through the EFORT Foundation. The Solider Mission is the co-charity for the event, and five amputee soliders will participate in the run/walk. The registration fee is 19 Euro/140 DKK.

Klaus Hindso, MD, PhD, member of the local organizing committee and chief surgeon of the section of pediatric orthopaedics at the Center of Head and Orthopaedics, Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, said that “Setting Sails for a New Life” — a special veterans’ symposium — will follow the run/walk. The symposium will discuss the rehabilitation of disabled veterans, as well as the technical social and political aspects of helping disabled veterans gain new goals in life.

The first 200 registrants get a free t-shirt. Bus transfer is provided, and shower facilities will be available free of charge at the Spa of the Bella Sky Hotel. To register or for more information, please visit the Charity Run/Walk Desk located in the registration hall.
