FH Orthopedics announced that its PEEK fixation screws for the CoLS technique received FDA approval and will soon be available for use in the United States. The non-metal screws, made out of PEEK material, are designed for fixating the tendon graft to the femur and tibia during ACL and PCL reconstructive surgeries.

“Compared with other soft tissue techniques, the CoLS technique reduces postoperative laxity, a significant advancement in short graft fixations for ACL/PCL surgeries,” Eric Hermann, managing director of the U.S. subsidiary of FH Orthopedics, stated in a company press release. “We are pleased that physicians reluctant to use titanium screws will now have access to this exciting technique.”
