Cayenne Medical Inc. appoints new medical director

Cayenne Medical Inc. appointed Dev K. Mishra, MD, as the company’s new medical director. Mishra will provide counsel in medical education and clinical research to focus on the development of products, clinical protocols and procedures.
“Dr. Mishra is an important addition to the Cayenne management team as we move into our next stage of growth and development,” David Springer, chief executive officer of Cayenne Medical, stated in a company release. “He has an impressive background advising several emerging medical technology companies on product development and clinical study design, and his extensive clinical experience and commitment to sports medicine will be invaluable as we continue to develop innovative solutions to fulfill the unmet needs of surgeons and their patients.”
Mishra is board certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine and has 16 years of experience in the treatment of shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle disorders. He currently advises several venture capital firms, and holds the positions of chief medical officer at AlterG Inc. and president of Sideline Sports Doc LLC. He previously served as a medical officer at Oratec Interventions Inc. and MedModus Inc., as well as clinical advisor to Stryker Endoscopy.
