Zeiss Vision Care and Swiss startup Creal have partnered to create a digital vision care platform using Creal’s light field display technology, enabling quicker and more cost-effective diagnostic procedures.

“We see our collaboration with Creal and the consequent development and rollout of our digitized vision care platform as a way to revolutionize the prescription eye wear customer buying experience, elements of which still rely on antiquated technology, developed over a century ago,” Antia Alonso, PhD, vice president of Zeiss vision technology solutions, said in a Creal press release.

According to the release, Creal’s 3D display technology replicates real-world light and, when integrated into Zeiss’ vision test devices, will allow for precise diagnosis of eye defects via virtual lens simulation, user-friendly test procedures and projection of automated content.
