OcuSoft announced the launch of Retaine Allergy, a prescription-strength olopatadine hydrochloride ophthalmic solution 0.2% for eye allergy itch relief.

According to a company press release, the once-daily drops work quickly to provide relief from pollen, grass, ragweed, pet dander and other allergens. Each multidose bottle contains a 30-day supply.

“Retaine Allergy eye drops are a brand extension of the top-selling leading doctor-recommended Retaine MGD,” Troy Smith, senior vice president of sales and marketing at OcuSoft, told Healio. “It is a brand equivalent of Pataday 0.2% [Alcon].”

The company noted that removing allergens from the eyelids can provide additional relief and recommended using Retaine Allergy drops alongside OcuSoft Lid Scrub Allergy eyelid cleanser, which removes oil, debris, pollen and other contaminants.
