CooperVision has announced the U.S. launch of its new Clariti Daily Multifocal 3 Add contact lenses, designed to provide all-day comfort, ease of fit and optimal visual acuity at all distances for all levels of presbyopia.
“We actively look for ways to extend meaningful innovations across other products, so that more practices and wearers can benefit,” Michele Andrews, OD, vice president of marketing and professional and academic affairs in the Americas at CooperVision, said in a company press release.
The lens is available in the range of +8.00 D to –12.00 D, the release stated. It utilizes CooperVision’s optimized comfort edge technology to maximize wearer comfort and simplify the fitting process, as well as WetLoc Technology, which helps maintain moisture throughout the day.
According to the release, a clinical study found that 98% of patients were fit with their Clarity 1 Day Multifocal 3 Add prescription in two pairs of lenses or fewer.
“A lot of patients who have grown up not requiring any vision correction get to a point in their 40s where they suddenly experience changes in their vision,” Michael Shaheed, OD, from Hills & Dales Vision, said in the release. “This is all new to them and can bring on frustration. Offering solutions like the Clariti 1 Day Multifocal 3 Add lens gives patients the ability to see without help from glasses, giving them their freedom back.”
According to the company’s website, the somofilcon A contact lens is available in three add powers — +0.75 D to +1.25 D, +1.50 D to +1.75 D and +2.00 D to +2.50 D — and 30-pack and 90-pack cartons.
