Bausch + Lomb introduced its Infuse for Astigmatism silicone hydrogel daily disposable contact lens in the United States.

“Bausch + Lomb Infuse for Astigmatism is the latest addition to the Infuse family of silicone hydrogel daily disposable contact lenses,” Yang Yang, president of global vision care at Bausch + Lomb, told Healio. “It was purposely designed to address the needs of toric lens wearers today — stable vision across the entire power range, all-day comfort and excellent clarity.”

“We look forward to rolling out this incredible new lens to eye care professionals and their astigmatic patients next month.” Yang Yang

The lens features a blend of osmoprotectants, electrolytes and moisturizers and uses kalifilcon A lens material for high moisture and breathability, according to a press release. It was engineered with a thin-edge design to minimize lid interaction.

A recent study found that 95% of lenses settled within 10° within 30 seconds, and 97% had less than 3° of rotation with blink.

The lens and its packaging will be part of the company’s recycling program.

“We look forward to rolling out this incredible new lens to eye care professionals and their astigmatic patients next month,” Yang said.
