ATLANTA — The use of Upneeq in patients with age-related ptosis has helped one clinician obtain more complete fundus images.

In this video from SECO 100, Mile Brujic, OD, who practices in Bowling Green, Ohio, told Healio that he was seeing a dark shadow in the inferior region of some patients’ fundus photos and realized it was due to lid ptosis. He decided to instill Upneeq (oxymetazoline hydrochloride ophthalmic solution 0.1%, RVL Pharmaceuticals) drops, and “the responses were remarkable. We went from about 50% of the fundus being seen to 100% of the fundus being seen.”

Brujic said this “gives us the opportunity to improve the quality of life because now, with a simple drop and a nonsurgical option, you can improve the way these people are functioning.”
