VIDEO: Amniotic membrane useful for dry eye symptoms
SAN DIEGO — The use of the Prokera amniotic membrane can “generate clinical remission” of dry eye symptoms for at least 3 months, Scheffer C.G. Tseng, MD, PhD, said at Academy 2022.
“The use of the Prokera [BioTissue] can optimize the ocular surface so quickly so the patient can enjoy comfort and clear vision in a disease as simple as dry eye or as serious as a chemical burn,” Tseng, founder of BioTissue, told Healio.
“This important new usage should change radically our understanding of the disease [and also] help our patients,” he said.
