Eye care brand Waldo has released its new-to-the-U.S. Hydra Boost Plus daily contact lenses, which are infused with a vitamin B12 saline solution to target dry eye symptoms, the company announced in a press release.

Hydra Boost Plus lenses benefit from the addition of cyanocobalamin, a fabricated version of vitamin B12, which helps reduce inflammation and eye fatigue, as well as aid in corneal healing. According to the release, the lenses provide twice the comfort and 30% more hydration by supporting increased tear volume and tear stability.

Like Waldo’s Hydra Boost lenses, the new lenses are made from etafilcon, with a high-water content of 58%, and feature class 2 classification to block 83% of UVA and 97% of UVB rays. The lenses mimic the corneal shape and include tapered, smooth edges that allow low-foreign body sensation while blinking, the company stated.

“We have been working hard to bring these lenses to market this summer, offering a product unlike anything else through the inclusion of vitamin B12,” Waldo founder and CEO Ashleigh Hinde said in the release. “We have continued to prioritize innovation while staying true to our brand mission of making eye care accessible and are proud to be able to offer our customers this kind of innovation while still upholding our lower price point.”
