In recognition of World Glaucoma Week, March 7-13, Justin A. Schweitzer, OD, FAAO, spoke about the number of new options in the optometrist’s toolbox to diagnose and treat glaucoma to both catch the disease early and treat those affected.

“Glaucoma is a disease that affects millions of people around the world. Unfortunately, it’s also a disease that is silent in nature,” Schweitzer said. “As an optometrist, it is imperative that we educate our community, our staff and our patients about comprehensive eye exams to pick up on glaucoma on a daily basis.”
