VIDEO: Cataract treatment options expand with new IOLs
LAS VEGAS – Clark Chang, OD, MSA, MSc, FAAO, of Wills Eye Hospital and TLC Laser Eye Centers, shared some recent developments in cataract surgery here at Vision Expo West, including Alcon’s AcrySof IQ PanOptix trifocal IOL and the Light Adjustable Lens from RxSight.
The PanOptix trifocal has a defocus curve similar to an extended-depth focus lens design, Chang said, but is “likely a little stronger in the near range.” The Light Adjustable Lens could help in “patients with postop power surprises,” he said.
