BARCELONA, Spain — In this Healio Video Perspective from the Euretina congress, Sundaram Natarajan, MD, shares his experience with wide-angle viewing systems.

Natarajan has personally used systems from Oculus and Zeiss to perform 3D surgery with the Alcon Ngenuity and the Zeiss Artevo.

It has been difficult to develop vitreoretinal surgery because it is confined in a small, dark area, according to Natarajan.

“Now we have this wide angle with excellent illumination. You can combine it with chandelier light using 3D, and you can magnify and see the entire retina while you are working on it. That is where high-precision surgery is possible,” he said.
