WAILEA, Hawaii — In this Healio Video Perspective from Hawaiian Eye 2024, Richard S. Davidson, MD, discusses capsular tension rings.

Davidson said capsular tension rings (CTRs) can be a valuable safety net during cataract surgery to help make a difficult case easier. However, he said the key to CTRs is knowing when to use one.

“Keep CTRs in your armamentarium. They’re very helpful,” he said. “Know when to use them and make sure your staff has them in stock. They can really help save the day for you.”
