FRANKFURT, Germany — In this Healio Video Perspective from the ESCRS winter meeting, Norbert Koerber, MD, PhD, summarizes the 6-year data of ab interno canaloplasty with the iTrack microcatheter from Nova Eye Medical.

A key point of his lecture at the meeting was the results in terms of medication reduction: 50% on average, with 42% of the patients being free of medication at 6 years.

“This is a very nice achievement,” he said, because medications have burdensome side effects, even when they are preservative free.

“We believe that an early treatment of this disease should be done surgically in order to prevent the patients from using these toxic substances for decades,” Koerber said.
