WAILEA, Hawaii — In this Healio Video Perspective from Hawaiian Eye 2024, Patricia Buehler, MD, MPH, discusses the benefits of Ziplyft, a new device for eyelid surgery.

Patients who have undergone upper eyelid blepharoplasty with Ziplyft (Osheru) have not had any cautery or suturing, with case times close to 10 minutes for both upper lids, Buehler said.

“With Ziplyft, the patient benefits by having very little downtime and a quick recovery in getting back to being event ready,” she said. “The surgeon benefits by having a very efficient case time as well as improved consistent results and improved symmetry, which can be a problem for both the patient and the surgeon.”

Buehler said the next step is a pilot study of Ziplyft, with a possible launch in 2025.
