VIDEO: Personalize decision plan for YAG capsulotomy vs. IOL exchange
WAILEA, Hawaii — In this Healio Video Perspective from Hawaiian Eye 2024, Sumit “Sam” Garg, MD, discusses deciding between a YAG capsulotomy or an IOL exchange for treating unsatisfied patients after cataract surgery.
“To me, one of the most important questions to ask these patients ... is, was the patient ever happy with their vision?” he said. “Really, you want to individualize your plan for your patient and think twice before just jumping to a YAG capsulotomy because sometimes you may need to do that IOL exchange.”
